EMS

Electrical muscle stimulation as support alongside the plan, not instead of training.

EMS

EMS

What this actually involves

EMS passes a current through pads on the skin to make a muscle contract. It feels like work, because the muscle genuinely is working, and people often find it a useful addition while they are already on a plan.

It is not a replacement for exercise. It does not train your heart and lungs, it does not build coordination, and it does not burn the energy a real session does. Described that way it is a reasonable extra; sold as a shortcut it is not.

  • Plainly describedWhat it does and does not do, before you book.

  • A supplement, not a swapYour own training and the plan still do the work.

  • Screened firstPacemakers, pregnancy and epilepsy rule it out.

  • Comfort set by youIntensity is adjusted to what you can tolerate.

How it is staged

Three stages, in this order

Each stage ends with a decision point — nothing moves forward on autopilot.

Screening

Stage 01

Screening

A short health check. Some conditions rule this out and they are asked about first, not afterwards.

The session

Stage 02

The session

Pads placed over the area, intensity brought up gradually to a level you are comfortable with.

Review

Stage 03

Review

An honest look at whether it is worth continuing, and what the plan should be carrying instead.

Why it is done this way

What you get out of it

A straight description

Nothing here is sold as a shortcut.

Screened properly

Contraindications asked about before, not after.

Short and simple

It sits alongside the nutrition work rather than replacing it.

Compared against your baseline, not against a feeling

Every stage is recorded — vocabulary, sentence length, intelligibility, measurements and, where you have them, blood results. You see your own numbers next to where you started, which beats being told it is going well.

Questions

About ems

Does EMS replace the gym?

No. It makes a muscle contract, which can feel like hard work, but it does not train your cardiovascular system or your coordination, and it does not burn what a real session burns.

Will it give me abs?

Not by itself. Visible abdominal muscle is mostly a function of body fat, which comes from the nutrition side.

Does it hurt?

It feels strange before it feels strong — a tightening, then a firm contraction. Intensity is set by you and turned up gradually.

Who should not have EMS?

Tell me if you have a pacemaker or any implanted electrical device, epilepsy, are pregnant, have a heart condition, metal implants in the area, or broken or infected skin where the pads go.
